4 months and counting, Mother's Day, Beach, Lake, & Memorial Day

Branlee will be 5 months this week so I am a month behind, please forgive. We started off the month of May with a trip to the pediatrician. It was shot time and not so fun! I am such a wiener when it comes to her shots. She takes them like a pro and I squall like a baby! She weighed 13 lbs and 4 oz and was 24 in. long. Just like last time, she was in the 50th percentile in everything. Overall, it was a great check-up and we are so very blessed to have a healthy baby. We have also started her on solids. She loves all the veggies and only certain fruits. She breaks out in a rash when she eats peas and peaches so I guess we will have to give those a try later on. She is very good at eating with her spoon! We also bought her a training cup. She understands the concept but can't quite get it in her mouth yet. Mother's Day weekend we went to Babypalooza and then to Grandma Crawford's house for some grilling out with the fam. Branlee played with her cousin Eli, who is 9 days older than her, most of the night. They practiced rolling over, cooing, and crying. We also had lunch with my Mawmaw (Dad's Mom) at the Holiday Inn. My Mawmaw means the world to me! She is my rock and I don't know if I would have ever made it this far without her. She will be 83 this year and hasn't missed a beat. I love her VERY much! She loves her great grand-daughter very much too. Later on in the month went to the beach with Tim, Kisha, and Eli. We had a very enjoyable time with the baby's. Branlee and Eli got in the ocean and in the pool for the 1st time. Branlee is still too little for her float so I just carried her in the pool. Now Eli, he fit into his float great! He splashed and had a good ole' time. It was very sad to come home and very sad to know that in a couple weeks, our beautiful beaches may be ugly! We've also been to the lake camping twice. Brandon finally mastered my Dad's 1978 tournament ski that he has been trying to get up on for awhile. He thinks he is hott stuff now! I still have not let Branlee get in the lake water. It's yucky to me and I'm not too sure when I will let her take a dip in it. Memorial Day weekend we went to the lake AGAIN. The weekend consisted of storms, drinks, great times with family and friends, skiing, and boat riding! And best of all, Branlee's Mimi(Brandon's Mom) and Mawmaw(Brandon's Grand-mother) took care of her so that I could have some R&R! It was a GREAT Memorial Day! I am very thankful for all the troops who give their lives day to day for Our country and Our freedom! Last but not least, I got an at-home-job! YES! I am doing medical transcription at home, at night while Branlee is sleeping, and I am so loving it! I thank God everyday for all my many blessings!

Life with a 3 month old

Life can get pretty boring staying at home with a new baby! It's the same ole' routine day by day (wash bottles, make bottles, change diapers, feed Branlee, etc.) but I LOVE being a stay at home mommy! Branlee is 3 months old now and is growing way too fast. I keep looking for the pause button on her but I can't seem to find it anywhere! It's truely amazing how much and how fast babies grow in just a few months! We had her 3 month pictures made at Wendy Jones Photography and they turned out SO GREAT!!! We also got her ears pierced! I was so excited to do it but I felt like such a mean mommy the day we got it done. Just like the 2 month shots, I cried more than she did!! Right after it was done she was smiling and cooing and I was still boo-hooing!!!

Back where it all started

Today we went to the Southeast Alabama Medical Center where Branlee was born to view her pictures (courtesy of http://www.wjonesphotography.com) that are placed in the hall and lobby of the Family Birth Center. It is such an honor to have her pictures hung on the wall where her life started!

Branlee's 1st Easter

We started our Easter by going to a Easter egg hunt at a friends barn. It was more for the parents but was loads of fun! After that we took Branlee to see the Easter bunny. She could have cared less but we had to get that 1st picture with the Easter bunny. Easter Sunday we got up and gave Branlee her 1st Easter basket. She loved the cute little outfits and the toys she got. Then we celebrated the rest of the day with family. We ate and everyone passed Branlee around. It's amazing how much attention a baby can draw! All in all we had an awesome Easter!! Thank you Jesus for making this day possible!

Branlee 2 months

Branlee had her 2 month check-up which went pretty good until the gave her the shots. Her fat lil' legs just poured blood and I cried way more than she did. She weighed 10 lbs and 14 oz and was 22 in. long. She was in the 50th percentile for both weight and height. Later that day she ran a little fever and I gave her first dose of Tylenol which helped a whole bunch! She has also been sleeping through the night. She sleeps 10-11 hrs a night! I am SO loving it!!! I guess she loves her sleep as much as Mommy and Daddy! And can we say "bye-bye outie"?!!! Yep, Branlee's belly button has already grown in. I am so thankful it didn't take a year!

Branlee 1 month old

I had to take Branlee to see Dr. Benak last week because her belly button looked funny. He told me that she had an umbilical hernia. He said that it was no big deal that most babies have them and it should grow in by the time she's a year old. So for now, Branlee has an outie! It's not the cutest thing but we can live with it. At the visit she weighed 9 lbs 11oz and was 20 in. long. Other than that she is growing fast and loves to eat.
